Kusadasi, Turkey

Today was very interesting. Kusadasi is quite a modern city we met our guide at 7AM and 14 of us loaded onto a new mercedes bus. we drove out to the ancient city of Ephesus. First we visited the site of the Virgin Mary's home where she spent her last days hiding from the Romans. Then we went to the ancient city and toured the ruins. it was very large and the tour was interesting. We spent about 3 hours there and then came back to town. on the way they took us to a leather factory and the stuff was fabulous. however none of us wanted to spend that kind of money. We came back to the ship for lunch and then MaryJo, Cindy, Eileen and I went into the Turkish Bazare to check out the buys. it was very chaoitic and we did not like the way the men were pushing you to buy. reminded me of the Caribean Islands. we called it aday around 4 and all headed to the pool.
We sailed at 6:30 and are now on our way to Athens. We meet at 8AM for an 8 hour tour. Guess we should get some sleep. Tom, MaryJo and Dan all have come down with colds and a few others in our group as well. But they should be ok soon.
bye from Turkey and will see you again from Athens. Night JoAnne
